IMMACULATA, PA. -- Marymount softball hit the road on Saturday to play Immaculata University for their first conference doubleheader of the season. The Saints started off strong in the first game, taking the win 9-7. The Mighty Macs claimed the second game 4-2. 

GAME ONE

• The Saints broke a scoreless tie in the second inning with a home run from Shanyn Burch to bring in one run. Later in that inning, Jena Jew singled to right field, bringing Bailey Demusz home for their second run.
• Through the next three innings, the Mighty Macs totaled four runs while the Saints struggled to get any more on the board.
• In the sixth inning, Kaylynn Johnson and S. Burch both doubled, each bringing in an RBI. At the end of the sixth inning, the score stands at 7-4, with Immaculata up.
• The Saints secured the win in the seventh inning as they rallied five runs. With two on base, Johnson hit a home run to left center and with one on base S. Burch hit a home run to left field. 
• Bailey Demusz pitched a total of 4.2 innings, totaling eight strikeouts and only four earned runs after facing 24 batters.

GAME TWO

• In a slower paced night cap, the Saints earned their only two runs late in the game. S. Burch hit her third home run of the day to gain two runs for the Saints.
• Other hits for this game includes doubles from Jaclyn Burch and Johnson and a single from Kammie Brown.
• Shanyn Burch pitched a total of 6.0 innings, giving up four earned runs but putting up one strikeout after facing 25 batters.

UP NEXT

• The Saints will play their second conference match up of the season at home on Saturday, March 23rd against Neumann University. The games will take place at Barcroft park at 12 PM and 2 PM. 
• On Thursday, the 28th, the Saints will travel to Gwynedd Mercy University for a doubleheader at 1
