READING, Pa. - Marymount women's lacrosse kicked off the start to their season on the road, taking on Alvernia in non-conference action Friday evening.
The Saints quickly picked up their first win of the year, taking down the Wolves by a final tally of 20-7 behind balanced play from the squad.
NOTABLE
- Bailey Gehler, in her first official game donning the Marymount blue, posted five goals on the day, going a perfect 2-2 on free position attempts. She added three draw controls, a pair of groundballs, and a caused turnover to her line.
- Tess Valentino had five goals on six shots, going 2-3 from the free position, while adding a ground ball and a caused turnover.Â
- Taylor Chepren has three goals and three assists, good for six total points, in the decisive win.Â
- Riley Love put up a trio of goals in the contest, adding two assists, for five total points. She picked up a ground ball on the evening to finish her stat line.Â
- Arayla Garcia had 12 draw controls with an assist to her credit.Â
- Megan Edens notched a goal with three draws, two groundballs, and a caused turnover.Â
- Natalia Ortiz posted a goal off of the bench for the Saints.Â
- Hannah Smith earned the win in the goal, swatting away eight saves.
UP NEXT
- The Saints will play their next contest at Long Bridge Park, taking on Stockton next Saturday, Mar. 2 at 12 PM.
- They will follow that up with another home game Wednesday, Mar. 6 against Allegheny at 2 PM.
