SALISBURY, Md. -- Marymount women's basketball battled down the stretch on the road against the Sea Gulls of Salisbury on Saturday afternoon.
Ultimately falling 51-48, the Saints fall to 2-8 on the season.
NOTABLE
- Kaylah Barr upped her season-high point total, dropping a game-high 17 on the afternoon alongside five rebounds, two assists, and a pair of steals.Â
- Ella Morrison had six, going 3-5 from the floor with two blocks and a steal.
- Samantha Bulik dished out a trio of assists and added five points to her line in the well-fought loss.
- Cara Vollmer and Jaylah Thompson each had six off of the bench for Marymount.
- Ava Achtyl had three steals alongside two rebounds.
- As a team, the Saints shot 40.8% from the floor.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Barr got the Saints rolling to start off the day, putting the first five points on the board for Marymount to knot it up with over six minutes left in the first quarter.
- Down by seven, Thompson dropped a three to put the Saints within four in the final minutes of the opening quarter.
- A good tip in from Kelly Ceroll finished the scoring in the first quarter to give the Saints life.
- The Sea Gulls put themselves up by 11, but a three from Vollmer cut into the lead and pushed momentum to Marymount's bench.
- A nine-point run, including Vollmer's three and finished up with a layup from Barr, put the Saints down just two heading into the locker room for the half.
- The two teams continued to battle it out in the third quarter, with Salisbury ultimately taking the advantage to go up by four heading into the fourth and final quarter.
- The fourth quarter proved to be an exciting one, as Marymount continued to fight against SU. Bulik opened the quarter with a layup, followed by a jumper from Barr, to even up the tally.
- After a Sea Gull bucket, Bulik found the look and sank the three to retake the lead.
- Down by three with just over a minute to go, Barr sank another three for the day to tie up the contest in the final minute of action.
- A pair of free throws but SU up by two, but Morrison found Catie Kolwey with an open look inside of the arc to even it up yet again.
- Salisbury scored the final three points to get over the hump and take the contest.

- The Saints will hit the court again in a week, heading to Washington College (Md.) next Saturday, Dec. 14 for a 2 PM tip off.
