ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- Men's basketball took advantage of a big second half to get back into the win column, taking down Muhlenberg on their home court Saturday by a final tally of 83-to-68.
With the win, the Saints now sit at 6-3 on the season.
NOTABLE
- Marcus Stubbs dropped a team-high 23 points, going 5 of 9 from three-point range, adding four boards and a trio of steals.
- Isaac Harris had 13 on the afternoon with seven rebounds and three assists.
- David King had a career-high 15 points off of the bench for the Saints, going 7-9 from the floor.
- Joshua Hughes notched nine points in the win with four rebounds.
- Reuben McEachern dished out five assists.
- As a whole, the team shot 54.8% from the floor.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams began the game trading shots, with the Mules holding a slight advantage over MU. A three from Stubbs gave the Saints the lead with under 10 minutes left in the first half of play.
- Ronier Peters drove down the lane to give Marymount a four-point lead with 6:43 left in the half.
- Knotted up at 35 apiece, a pair of free throws from Hughes gave the Saints the lead.
- Down two, Harris sank the layup for the final score of the half and tie up the contest.
- After going back-and-forth to open the second half, Harris gave the Saints the lead with another layup with just over 15 minutes left to play.
- The Saints would never look back, getting ahead by as many as 18 points down the stretch to take the game with ease and pick up their sixth win of the season.
UP NEXT
- Marymount will play in the Tom McKavitt Classic, hosted by Catholic, down the road from Wednesday, Dec. 18 to Thursday, Dec. 19.
- They will open play with Saint John's University on Wednesday at 3 PMÂ before playing in the second round the following day.
