ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Marymount women's basketball dropped a close matchup to Widener on Saturday by a score of 66-61. The Saints fall to 0-2 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Widener was able to keep the Saints at bay in the first half and held a 30-25 lead at halftime.
- MU mounted a rally in the third quarter and held slim one-point leads on a number of occasions.
- A strong fourth-quarter surge from Widener pushed the Pride to a decent advantage before holding on for the five-poihnt victory.
- Cara Vollmer smashed her previous career-high with 16 points on the day. She went 4-of-9 from beyond the arc.
- Samantha Bulik also set a new career-high with 15 points as she went 9-of-10 from the free-throw line. She also grabbed a career-best seven rebounds.
- Ella Morrison rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points after hitting two 3-pointers.
