FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Marymount women's soccer traveled south on Saturday to take on the Eagles of Mary Washington in non-conference action on the pitch.
Narrowed out by a score of 1-0, the Saints fell in the contest to put their record at 2-8-2 on the season.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Saints handled early offensive pressure, with the Eagles punching four shots in the opening 20 minutes, to keep the game evened up at 0-0.
- In the 19th minute, Tonic took MU's first shot of the match, but sent it wide.
- Cortez took a shot in the 27th minute, but sent it high, keeping the match even.
- A final shot from UMW in the final minute of the first half was swatted away by Needham to keep the game at 0-0 going into halftime.
- The Eagles broke through in the opening minute of the second half to take a 1-0 lead.
- Lajdel sent a scorcher at the net in the 69th minute, but the Eagles' goalkeeper collected it to keep Marymount at bay.
- Harkins attempted for the equalizer one final time in the 79th minute, sending it high.Â
