Women's Volleyball Wins Big on Senior Night; Secure Perfect AEC Record

ARLINGTON, Va. -- Marymount women's volleyball secured a perfect 6-0 record in AEC play on Wednesday evening with a sweep of Immaculata on Senior Night.

The Saints clinch the #1 seed in the Atlantic East Conference Tournament ahead of a few more regular season matches before playoffs begin.

NOTABLE
  • Ryleigh Ward tied a team-high in kills on her Senior Night, posting eight with a .222 hitting percentage alongside four aces for 12.0 points.
  • Harper Wolf had eight kills with a killer .571 percentage to post 8.0 points.
  • Maya Harris had five kills with four digs and three block assists on the night.
  • Eliza Freeman led the Saints with 10 digs.
  • Lauryn Sims had seven total aces with three digs and an assist.
  • Katee Stromberg put up six kills with a block solo and two block assists.
  • Natalie Bialecki had 23 assists with four kills and six digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After Sims put up an ace to start the evening off on a high note, it was all Saints through the first set. Finishing it off with a set score of 25-14, Ward powered a final blow in way of an ace to give the Saints the 1-0 lead.
  • Marymount put up three-straight points to start off the second set, but the Mighty Macs held close throughout.
  • Up 15-13, the Saints used a four-point burst, capped off by an ace from Bialecki, to take a more commanding 19-13 lead.
  • Back-to-back aces on the back end of the set from Sims put MU up 2-0 in sets.
  • Marymount held a strong advantage through the final set up play, scoring the last seven points to take the match with Wolf giving the deciding blow.
UP NEXT
  • Marymount will head to Christopher Newport this Saturday, Nov. 2, for a tri-match with Washington & Lee and the Captains.
  • They will finish off the regular season with a tri-match at Catholic on Friday, Nov. 8.
  • With the Saints clinching the #1 seed, they get a bye in the first round and will play the semi finals at home on Thursday, Nov. 14.
