Marymount Shuts Out the Cyclones in a 4-0 Senior Day Victory

Long Bridge/Arlington, VA– Marymount celebrated senior day with a win against the Centenary Cyclones.


This brings the Saints' record to 7-8-3. The Saints are still undefeated in conference play.

NOTABLE HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Marymount started the game with confidence, maintaining strong possession of the ball while denying Centenary any substantial offensive opportunities.
  • The first goal for the Saints took place in the 18th minute of the game scored by Carrillo-Torres and assisted by Harkins. This goal set the tone for how the Saints' offense would approach the game.
  • The half ended with a score of 1-0. Marymount maintained the majority of possession and rejected all Centenary attempts at an offensive press.
  • The second half saw even more action from the Saints with another Carrillo-Torres and Harkins team up to gain the second goal of the game in the 52nd minute. The goal was scored by Carrillo-Torres and assisted by Harkins on the corner kick.
  • Harkins had already done her fair share of assists and decided to claim a goal of her own. Harkins scored the third goal of the game in the 58th minute of the second half.
  • The Saints continued to dominate against the Cyclones in the second half with no real threats seen by the Marymount defense.
  • To end the game a final goal was scored by Harkins in the 70th minute to bring home the victory for the Saints.
  • The game ended in a 4-0 win for the Saints and a successfully celebrated senior day.
UP NEXT
  • The next game for the Saints will be the last game before conference tournament play starts. The game will take place on Wednesday October 30th at 5pm. The Saints will face off against Neumann University at Long Bridge Park in Arlington, VA.
