Long Bridge Park/Arlington, VA– The Saints tamed the Griffins with 3 goals scored in the win at home.
This brings the Saints' record to 5-8-2. The Saints are still undefeated in conference play.
NOTABLE
- Marymount had 12 shots on goal to Gwynedd Mercy's 4.
- Harkins, Breanna Scored first for the Saints off of a penalty kick. The goal was scored in the 22nd minute of the game. Harkins also claimed the 2nd goal of the game in the 25th minute with an assist from Alvarado, Nicole.
- Diggs, Sophia scored the 3rd goal for the Saints, scoring early in the 2nd half with an assist from Tonic, Marissa.
- Dufour, Mara kept a clean sheet in the first half with no goals scored against her and added 2 saves to her stats.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Marymount took control of the game from the kickoff. The offense and defense worked together to maintain the majority of possession against Gwynedd.
- The Saints were relentless with their offensive attacks, gaining a total of thirty-three shots and twelve shots on goal throughout the game.
- In an attempt to slow down the Saints, the Griffins' defense fouled the Saints in the box resulting in a penalty kick.
- Harkins stepped up to take the shot achieving the first goal of the game in the twenty second minute.
- The Saints took the energy from the goal and used it to score another not long after in the twenty fifth minute, also scored by Harkins with an assist by Alvarado.
- The Saints maintained the shut out in the first half.
- Marymount did not want to wait long to begin their attack in the second half, scoring the third goal of the game within ten minutes. The goal was scored by S. Diggs and assisted by Tonic.
- The Saints continued to play strong throughout the second half only allowing one real goal opportunity for the Griffins that resulted in bringing the score to 3-1.
- The Saints dominated in possession and shots not allowing the Griffins to come close to closing the Saints' lead before the Saints ran the clock out to win the game.

- The next game for the Saints will be on Saturday Oct. 19 against Marymood University at 4pm. The game will take place on the road in Scranton, Pa on Marywood's turf.
