SCRANTON, Pa. - Marymount men's basketball moved to 2-0 in their early AEC schedule behind double-digit scoring from four Saints and an overpowering second half.

With the win, MU moved to 8-5 on the season overall as they look ahead to playing CNU next Wednesday.

NOTABLE

• Montell Cooper dropped 23 points on 8-12 shooting from the floor, sinking both of his three-point attempts. He added seven rebounds, six assists, and a pair of steals. 
• Marcus Beckett had 18 coming off of the bench, going 3-for-4 from beyond the arc.
• Wyatt Hockenberry also added 18 for the Saints, dishing out six assists.
• Marcus Stubbs had 10 on the afternoon with four rebounds. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Marywood got out to a quick 14-1 lead until Hockenberry dropped a three to get the scoring going for the Saints.
• After getting withing striking distance, the Saints finished out the final minutes of the first half with a 7-to-3 run, capped off by five from Cooper, to go into the locker room with momentum.
• An 8-to-3 run to start off the second half gave the Saints the early lead.
• Marymount continued to hold the advantage for the duration of the second half, outscoring the Pacers 48-to-31 to earn the decisive win.

• Marymount comes back to Converse Family Fieldhouse, hosting the reigning national champion Christopher Newport at 7 PM Wednesday evening.
• They will get back into AEC action on Saturday, traveling to Centenary for a 3 PM tip off.
