RADNOR, Pa. - Marymount men's basketball used a strong second half to stay undefeated in conference action, taking down the Cavaliers by a final tally of 81-77.
The Saints move to 11-6 overall on the season, 5-0 in AEC play.
NOTABLE
- Marcus Stubbs led the scoring for the Saints, dropping 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the field. He added three rebounds and two steal in the win.
- Montell Cooper put up 20 in the winning effort, adding six boards and three steals.
- CJ Highsmith Jr. had 10 on the afternoon with five rebounds and a block.
- Jack Bifano led the Saints on the glass with eight total rebounds while putting up seven points and adding a pair of blocks.Â
- Miles Phillips had eight for the Saints off of the bench, going 3-of-4 from the floor.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- With the game getting settled in, Stubbs sank a three to give the Saints an early 9-5 lead with just over 16 minutes left in the first half of play.
- Cabrini got within one with a three, but the Saints answered with a short run to retake an eight-point advantage.
- The Cavaliers used a strong run down the stretch to send the teams into the locker room with Marymount up by a single point.
- Marymount maintained pressure early in the second half, with Marcus Beckett sinking a three at the 14 minute mark to retake the lead away from Cabrini.
- MU went up by as much as 15 points down the waning minutes of the game to take the win, bringing home the win to Arlington.
UP NEXT
- The Saints will be back at home next Wednesday, Jan. 24, for an AEC Championship rematch against Neumann.
- Tip off is set for 8 PM.
- Next weekend, the Saints will play host to Marywood for Senior Day.
