HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Five Saints scored in double-figures on Saturday as Marymount men's basketball improved to 3-0 in conference play with a 77-66 road win over Centenary.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Marymount raced out to a 6-0 lead in the first two minutes after making its first three field goals.
- After Centenary got within one with 8:28 left in the first half, Marymount put together a 9-0 run punctuated by a Reuben McEachern layup with 5:44 left in the half.
- MU's lead stretched to as many as 15 points before heading into the locker room with a 39-29 advantage.
- In the second half, the Saints were able to ward off any potential comeback as Centenary didn't get closer than eight points before Marymount triumphed, 77-66.
- As a team, Marymount made 23 free throws compared to just five for Centenary.
- Marymount held significant advantages in points off turnovers (22-14) and bench points (21-10).
- Marcus Stubbs and Wyatt Hockenberry both scored 14 points and hit two 3-pointers to lead the Marymount offense.
- Montell Cooper, CJ Highsmith Jr., and Marcus Beckett each added 12 points.
