WASHINGTON, D.C.- Women's Volleyball faced the University of Scranton and Catholic University in a tri-match hosted at Catholic on Saturday. The Saints fells short against the Royals in a 3-1 decision but claimed victory over the Cardinals in the Pope's Cup match in a 3-1 decision. 

NOTABLE

• In their match against Scranton, Kaitlyn Doyle lead the team offensively with a total of 13 kills. Jada Griffith and Maya Harris were close behind each with 12 kills.
• In the same match, Elizabeth Stackpole had 4 blocks.
• Alexis Franklin contributed with a total of 39 assists.
• In their match facing Catholic, Eliza Freeman lead the team in digs with 13 and also contributed 3 service aces.
• Natalie Bialecki and Elizabeth Stackpole hit at a clip of .333 in their second match.
• Natalie Bialecki lead the team in assists with a total of 19.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Marymount came out strong in their first set against the Royals, taking the frame 25-17.
• Losing momentum in the second set, Scranton held a steady ten point lead for the majority of the set, taking it 25-12. 
• Numerous kills from Maya Harris and Kaitlyn Doyle in the third and fourth sets, tightened the match. Ultimately falling short to Scranton in a 3-1 decision.
• In their second match against Catholic, Marymount had a slow start losing the first frame in a large deficit 25-9. 
• Flipping roles in the second frame, Marymount held a strong lead for the entirety of the set, taking the win 25-9 with a kill from Kaitlyn Doyle.
• In a tight second set, the Saints fell short 24-26 forcing the game into four frames.
• The third and fourth frames included strong kills from Myia Jeter and Kaitlyn Doyle as well as a handful of service aces affirmed the Victory of the Saints over the Cardinals in their Pope's Cup match in a 3-1 decision.
