ARLINGTON, VA- Women's volleyball faced the Salisbury Seagulls on Tuesday night. In a tightly contested match that went to five sets, the Saints fought hard but fell short in a 3-2 decision. 

NOTABLE

• Eliza Freeman contributed with a total of 30 digs.
• Maya Harris had 4 blocks and Mya Bowers was close behind with 3. 
• Alexis Franklin had a total of 47 assists tonight which pushed her over 1000 career assists. She also added 15 digs.
• Kaitlyn Doyle lead offensively with 24 kills, totaling 27 points for the match.
• Alexis Franklin and Kaitlyn Doyle each had 2 service aces.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Taking the lead early on, the Saints claimed the first set 25-23 with two back to back kills by Kaitlyn Doyle.
• The Seagulls took the next two sets 25-14 and 25-21 respectively. The Saints fought hard in the third frame, going point for point with the Seagulls but ultimately fell short.
• Going into the fourth frame, Marymount started off in a 7 point deficit but with 4 consecutive kills by Kaitlyn Doyle and 2 service aces from Alexis Franklin, the Saints took the lead, bringing the score to 15-13.
• Coming out on top in the fourth 25-20, the Saints pushed the match against the Seagulls to the fifth set.
• Battling it out in the final set, the two teams alternated points with notable kills from Jada Griffith and digs from Sarah Pham and Eliza Freeman. In the end, the Saints fells short 15-10 and the Seagulls claimed the victory in a 3-2 decision.
