New York, NY.-- Marymount Women's Volleyball faced Emerson College and Virginia Wesleyan University at their second day on the road at New York University. After a hard fight, they fell short to both teams in a 3-0 decision.Â

- Kaitlyn Doyle carried the Saints offensively in their match against Emerson, totaling 10 kills while also adding 6 kills to this match.
- Natalie Bialecki contributed 17Â assists to this match. Sydney Sands added 9.
- A first year, Elizabeth Stackpole led the team for hitting percentage, with a .500.
- In the second match against the Marlins, Natalie Bialecki came out fighting with 16 assists and 10 digs.
- Jada Griffith led the team offensively with 8 kills. Maya Harris following close behind with 7 kills.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Marymount struggled to get a head start in their first set against Emerson. Fighting hard to make it past 11 points, the Saints ultimately fell short with a .063 hitting percentage compared to the Lions .341. With a strong lead, Emerson claimed victory over Marymount, 25-12.
- Despite numerous kills at the beginning of the second frame, Emerson held a strong lead, conquering the set 25-16.
- Marymount tightened the deficit in the third set, contributing numerous kills as well as 3 service aces during this set, putting up a fight against the Lions. However, they claimed their victory in the third set with a kill by Rachel Dickerson, ending 25-18.
- In their second match, the Saints started off strong, quickly gaining a 6 point deficit to the Marlins. In the third set, the Saints and the Marlins went point for point, keeping the fans on the edge of their seats. Despite their promising start in both frames, Marymount fell short to Virginia Wesleyan 25-14 in both sets.
- With back to back kills from the Saints at the beginning of the third set, things were looking up. However, the Marlins brought the game from a 3 point deficit to a 9 point deficit within a matter of minutes.
- Securing the match win, the Marlins took the third set 25-18.
UP NEXTÂ
- On Wednesday, Marymount will host their second game of the season against John Hopkins University at 7 PM.
- Next weekend, they will participate in the Worthington Classic at Gallaudet University where they will go up against 4 teams throughout Friday and Saturday.
