ARLINGTON – Despite a 30-3 advantage in shots taken, Marymount men's soccer only found the back of the net one time on Friday evening in a 1-0 win against Notre Dame.  
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Marymount came out on the offensive with five corner kicks and 13 total shots in the first half, but only two went on target.
• It wasn't until the 63rd minute that Matthew Correa slotted home the game-winner after a feed from the endline by Alvaro Valdovinos.
• Bayron Banegas picked up two saves late in the second half to clinch his second straight blank sheet. He's held opponents scoreless for 180 straight minutes since exiting the Christopher Newport match.
• MU had three yellow cards compared to two for Notre Dame in a feisty Friday afternoon battle.
• Marymount has now won back-to-back matches.

• "We certainly played well and held huge advantage in possession. But boy, were we poor at finishing today. Glad we got the one goal caused we deserved the win. On to Southern Virginia tomorrow."

UP NEXT

• Marymount has a very quick turnaround as the Saints head down south to face Southern Virginia on Saturday evening at 6 PM.
• The Saints will then play four straight games at Long Bridge Park, including Youth Camper Night on Wednesday at 7 PM against North Carolina Wesleyan.
