THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- In an evenly contested battle on Friday afternoon, California Lutheran broke a scoreless tie in the 85th minute to prevail over Marymount men's soccer, 1-0. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• In the first half, Erick Shoetter-Rojas and Leonardo Torres put shots on target that were stymied by Cal Lutheran. 
• Late in the frame, Merlin Torres placed a free kick right on the woodwork that may have been MU's best chance of the half. 
• Shoetter-Rojas added another shot on target in the second half. 
• In the 85th minute, Lutheran sent a long ball into the far post that Cameron Pisan slotted past the keeper for the 1-0 lead. 
• Jonathan Guevara sent a shot wide in the 87th minute and Jorge Lopez put a last-ditch effort on target that was saved on Marymount's final possession. 
• Bayron Banegas had three saves on the day.

• Marymount will close out its West Coast trip with a tilt against Occidental on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 3 PM ET.
