CHAMPS! Women's Track & Field Earn AEC Championship, Men Runners Up

IMMACULATA, Pa. - Marymount track & field took on the Atlantic East Championships over the past two days, making history along the way.

On the women's side, the Saints took home the crown, winning their first AEC Conference Championship in the history of the program. The men picked up second in the tournament, providing strong showings across the board.

Team Results
  • The women earned 299 points en route to the decisive championship win.
  • The men earned 167 points to garner the runner-up position.
Top Track Results
  • The Saints picked up the top three spots in the 100m dash, with Agnes Signou taking first (13.03), Destiny Noel in second (13.19), and Brooke Hamer in third (13.27).
  • Samuel Struggs earned bronze in the men's 100m dash with a finishing time of 11.44 in the finals.
  • In the 100m hurdle event, it was Marymount taking over the podium with Deziree Conklin-Boone taking gold (15.81), Hamer at silver (16.85), and Ariana Grant at third (18.00). The same three finished in the same order in the 400m hurdle with Conklin Boone notching a time of 1:09.53, Hamer at 1:12.01, and Grant finishing with a time of 1:13.54.
  • Cole Valente picked up first place in the men's 110m hurdle (17.07) and the 400m hurdle (1:02.85) events , while also picking up third in the 200m dash finals (23.21).
  • Signou (26.78) and Noel (27.45) finished back-to-back in the women's 200m dash, picking up crucial points for the Saints.
  • Signou picked up the top spot in the women's 400m event with a time of 1:01.06.
  • Avery Finnegan finished second in the women's 10000m run at 42:56.90, while grabbing third in the 5000m run with a time of 20:00.12.
Top Field Results
  • Grant earned the gold in the women's pole vault event with a mark of 2.59m. It is the first pole vault champion in Saints history.
  • In the women's javelin throw event, Shayla Wynder earned first, hitting a mark of 29.02m.
  • The Saints earned the top three spots in the women's shot put: Samantha Healy in first (12.13m), Jada Noel at second (12.10m), and Wynder in third (10.24m).
  • Noel earned gold in the women's discus at 34.79m, with Healy (33.99m) and Wynder (28.46m) right behind.
  • Hezzy Ntube picked up a championship record first place finish in the men's discus with a mark of 39.07.
  • Healy, hitting a mark of 50.12m, picked up the gold in the women's hammer throw event. Noel came in second (45.52) and Wynder in third (39.30m).
  • Samuel Mercedes set a championship record, winning the men's hammer throw event with a mark of 42.50m.
  • Conklin-Boone finished first in the women's long jump (4.99m), with Morrison finishing second (4.94m).
  • Conklin-Boone won the women's triple jump event with a mark of 10.67m.
  • Kahil Easy earned third in the men's javelin event (36.95m).
  • Ella Morrison picked up a silver finish in the women's high jump at 1.44m.
  • Marcone Pessoa (1.80m) and Dylan Vallade (1.75m) went back-to-back at the top of the men's high jump.
  • Pessoa (6.44m) and Struggs (6.37m) finished atop the men's long jump.
  • Struggs (12.30m), Darian Curtis (12.18m), and Pessoa (12.03m) made up the podium in the men's tripe jump.
Top Relay Results
  • The women's 4x100 relay team of Signou, Noel, Conklin-Boone, and Hamer finished first with a time of 50.52.
  • The men's 4x100 team of Curtis, Struggs, Malachi Williams, and Valente finished first at 44.19.
  • The women's 4x400 team of Conklin-Boone, Grant, Kristin Johnson, and Signou finished second with a finishing time of 4:26.64.

  • The Saints will carry a select few members of the team to the AARTFC Championships in Selinsgrove, Pa. between Wednesday, May 17th and Thursday, May 18th.
