SALISBURY, Md. – Marymount softball fell twice in a non-conference doubleheader on Friday afternoon to No. 1 ranked Salisbury.

NOTABLE

• Shanyn Burch hit a home run in game one to get the Saints on the board.
• Samantha Cinotti and Caitlyn Oakland knocked singles in game two.
• Bailey Demusz threw 5.1 solid innings in game two.

GAME ONE

• Salisbury jumped ahead right away with six runs in the first inning.
• The Sea Gulls added another run in the bottom of the second.
• Burch got Marymount on the board with her home run to left field in the top of the fourth.
• Salisbury added three runs in the bottom of the fourth and then put MU down in order in the top of the fifth to win 10-1 via mercy rule.

GAME TWO

• Oakland hit a lead-off single in the top of the third. After advancing on a sacrifice bunt, Oakland was stranded at when Marymount struck out twice to end the frame.
• Salisbury scored five runs in the bottom of the third to take a 5-0 lead.
• The Sea Gulls clinched an 8-0 mercy-rule win with three more runs in the bottom of the sixth. 

UP NEXT

• Atlantic East play resumes on Saturday, April 22 at 12 PM on the road at Neumann.
• Marymount will return to Barcroft Park for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 29 at 12 PM against Gwynedd Mercy.
