Men’s Lacrosse Earns Comeback Win over Neumann

ASTON, Pa. – Marymount men's lacrosse trailed by three goals on one point on Wednesday night against Neumann, but used a five-goal run across the third and fourth quarters to eke out a 12-10 victory.

NOTABLE
  • Jack Williams racked up five assists in the game. He now has 75 career assists, just two away from breaking the program record held by Paul Schiavone since 1996.
  • Ciaran Connolly also had five points on the night as he finished with four goals and an assist.
  • Collin DeBruyn and Noah Hill both scooped up four ground balls on the night.
  • Defensively, DeBruyn and Evan Motta led the way with two caused turnovers apiece.
  • Marymount held Neumann to 1-of-3 on extra man opportunities.   
  • Marymount improves to 6-8 and 3-1 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After Connolly and Kai Goo scored the first two goals for Marymount, Neumann responded with four tallies in a row to take a 4-2 lead.
  • Both sides traded goals in the final two minutes and Neumann held a 5-3 lead after the first quarter.
  • Neumann extended its lead to three with a goal early in the second quarter.
  • The Saints then scored four goals in a row, including a man-up goal from Sebastian Radovic, to hold a 7-6 lead with 3:05 left in the half.
  • Neumann got the lead back with three goals in a row stretching across both halves to take its final lead at 9-7 with 8:46 left in the third quarter.
  • Marymount responded with a five-goal run, including a man-up goal from Paul Vey, to take a 12-9 lead with 11:48 remaining in the game.
  • MU's defense held strong the rest of the way, only allowing one more goal, to clinch the 12-10 victory. 
UP NEXT
  • Marymount will close out the regular season with back-to-back games at Long Bridge Park.
  • The Saints will host Cabrini on Saturday, April 22 at 1 PM before hosting Immaculata on Wednesday, April 26 at 6 PM.
