Records Fall as Men’s Lacrosse Tops Centenary

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Jack Williams set three school records as Marymount men's lacrosse romped to a 29-0 win over Centenary on Saturday.

NOTABLE
  • Jack Williams scored one goal and added a school-record 12 assists for a total of 13 points, setting another program record in the process.
  • He now has 112 career points and is the 19th member of the 100-point club, reaching the milestone in just 25 career games.
  • After today's performance, Williams has 32 assists this season, setting another school record. He is third in program history with 64 assists, 13 away from setting the new standard.
  • The 29 goals by Marymount is the most in a game in program history. It's also the first shutout since March 7, 2012 against Penn State-Abington.
  • Ben Cooper went 16-of-16 on faceoffs to become the third player since 2010 to finish with a perfect face-off percentage.
  • Ciaran Connolly (four goals, five assists) and Gavin Taylorson (five goals, two assists) were the two top scorers for the Saints. 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Marymount went up 11-0 after the first quarter.
  • The Saints kept the ball rolling with eight more goals in the second quarter.
  • MU finished the scoring with 10 more goals in the third quarter.
  • Marymount ran out the clock in the fourth quarter to win, 29-0.
UP NEXT
  • Marymount will play at Gwynedd Mercy on Wednesday, April 5 at 4 PM.   
  • The Saints will return to Long Bridge Park on Saturday, April 15 at 1 PM against Marywood for Senior Day.
