PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. - Marymount baseball took the trip to Pa. on Sunday to finish out the three-game series with Gwynedd-Mercy to start off Atlantic East Play.
With a split on the day, the Saints take the set over the Griffins, moving to 2-1 in conference play, 11-9 overall.Â

- In the game two win, Jordan Dickson had a two-hit day with a homer and three RBI. On the mound, he came into the game in the bottom of the ninth to earn his third save of the season.Â
- Quincy Via went 2-for-4 at the plate in game two with an RBI and a run scored.Â
- Ryan Maylie had two hits on the day with an RBI and a run scored.
- Owen Mead earned his second win of the year on the mound in game two, going 4.0 innings of shutout ball out of the 'pen with two strikeouts.
- Bobby Leitzel knocked a triple in the game two win.Â
How It Happened
Game One
- The game started slow at the plate, with the Griffins plating a run in the bottom of the second to take the early lead.Â
- The Saints took the lead in the top of the fourth with an RBI single from Maylie, with Joseph Kramp working a walk with the bases loaded thereafter to go up 2-1.Â
- MU extended their lead in the top of the fifth with Leitzel scoring on a wild pitch.Â
- Gwynedd-Mercy scored three in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 5-3 lead, which they would carry to the end to drop the Saints in game one.Â
Game Two
- The second game of the day told the same story early on, with the Griffins scoring in the bottom frames of the second, third, and fourth innings to go up 4-0.
- Marymount broke through in the top of the seventh. Leitzel led off the frame with a triple, scoring quickly on a wild pitch to put a dent into the Griffins lead.
- After working three walks, the Saints were looking at the bases juiced with two away, but Via came through with an RBI single, followed by a Dickson RBI single. A final walked-in run would tie up the contest at 4-4.
- The game went into the ninth inning knotted up, but Dickson came through for the Saints, powering a two-run homer over the right field wall to give MU the lead.
- Working around some trouble Dickson earned the save on the mound in the bottom of the ninth, giving the Saints the needed win.

- The Saints will be back at home this upcoming weekend, hosting Centenary in a three-game AEC set.
- The doubleheader of the series will be played on Friday with first pitch set for 1 PM.
- They will wrap up on Saturday with first pitch at 10 AM.
