Women’s Lacrosse Triumphs over DeSales in Live Like Liv Game

ARLINGTON, Va. – In Marymount women's lacrosse's Live Like Liv Game on Saturday afternoon, Emily Peters showed up and showed out in honor of her cousin, scoring five goals in a 22-15 win over DeSales.

NOTABLE
  • Ella Baker led the Saints with six goals on seven shots.
  • Riley Love also had six points in the game courtesy of three goals and three assists.
  • Arayla Garcia put together a complete performance with 12 draw controls to go along with three goals and an assist.
  • In the net, Hannah Smith had 11 saves and scooped five ground balls.
  • Marymount was 15-of-16 on clears while DeSales was 14-of-20. 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Baker started the scoring with two tallies early in the first quarter.
  • After a DeSales goal, Marymount scored the next four goals, including three in a span of 56 seconds, to take a 6-1 lead after the first 15 minutes.
  • The Saints kept the offense going in the second quarter, eventually running up a 10-4 lead.
  • Three goals from the Bulldogs in the final 2:23 cut the deficit to 10-7 at the half.
  • In the third quarter, Marymount started to create some separation with four straight goals, including three woman-up tallies, to take a 16-8 lead with 3:10 left.
  • Once again, DeSales ended the quarter strong, putting together four goals in a row to trail 16-12 with 14:30 remaining in the game.
  • Megan Edens stopped the bleeding with the first of five straight goals to push MU to a 21-12 lead with 4:59 left.
  • DeSales scored three goals and Kaylee Heath found the back of the net for the Saints late to finish with a 22-15 win.
UP NEXT
  • Marymount will have a week off before hosting Centenary on Sunday, April 2 at 1 PM for Senior Day.
  • The Saints will then take on Gwynedd Mercy at Long Bridge Park on Wednesday, April 5 at 4 PM.
