ARLINGTON, Va. – Marymount men's lacrosse battled tooth-and-nail with Hood College on Wednesday night, but its comeback ultimately fell one goal short as the Saints dropped the non-conference matchup, 14-13.
NOTABLE
- Gavin Taylorson ripped four goals and added one assist. He now sits at 97 career points, three points from becoming the 18th member of the 100-point club.
- With three assists tonight, Jack Williams currently sits at 96 career points, just four points away from becoming the 19th member of the 100-point club.
- Kai Goo and Noah Hill both had two goals and one assist.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hood started strong with two goals over a seven-second stretch to take an early 2-0 lead.
- Marymount tied it up with back-to-back goals from Goo and Mason Vandawater.
- The Blazers added three more goals in the first before Hill stopped the run with a tally of his own to end the first quarter down, 5-3.
- MU added three more goals to open the second quarter to take their first lead of the day with 11:51 remaining in the first half.
- Hood responded with four more goals to lead 9-6 at halftime.
- After two more goals in the third quarter, Hood appeared to be creating some separation with a 12-7 advantage.
- But Marymount strung three goals together from Chris Bochilo, Taylorson, and Hill to get some momentum back on their side.
- In the final frame, Marymount got within one goal twice, including with 1:25 left.
- With time winding down, Hood stopped a Marymount clear attempt and was able to run out the clock for the narrow 14-13 win.

- Marymount will have one last non-conference test on Saturday at Mary Washington. Game time is set for 1 PM.
- Marymount will return to Long Bridge Park on Saturday, April 15 at 1 PM.
