ARLINGTON, Va. – Marymount women's basketball picked up its second win in four days over Immaculata with a convincing 66-35 victory on Wednesday night. The Saints advanced to the Atlantic East Championship for the first time since 2020.  

NOTABLE

• Marymount was led by Ava Achtyl, who scored a game-high 16 points on 6-of-11 from the field. It was her highest scoring output since scoring 17 on Jan. 4 against Cabrini.
• The Saints went 20-of-24 from the free-throw line.
• Marymount held Immaculata to just 23.1 percent shooting and a season-low 35 points.
• Chandler Eddleton and Symantha Shackelford each contributed 12 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Immaculata took an early lead in a sloppy first quarter but Marymount held a 9-5 lead after the first 10 minutes.
• The Saints continued to play strong defense in the second quarter, limiting the Macs to just five points in the frame. MU went to the locker room with a 22-10 advantage.
• A 10-0 run early in the third quarter allowed Marymount to pull away.
• MU outscored Immaculata 27-16 in the final frame to win going away, 66-35.

UP NEXT

• Marymount will host No. 3 seed Cabrini in the Atlantic East Championship on Saturday at Converse Family Fieldhouse.
• Cabrini advanced with a 72-68 road victory over No. 2 Gwynedd Mercy.
