SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Marymount women's lacrosse program opened up their 2023 season on the road, taking on the Susquehanna River Hawks.

The Saints played strong, but fell in contest by a final margin of 13-to-8.

Notable

• Kaleigh Dunham put up strong numbers in the opener, scoring three goals and adding three assists for five total points. The senior added a ground ball and a caused turnover.
• Riley Love had two goals and an assist in the contest. 
• Emily Peters had a strong line in the game, picking up three ground balls and causing three turnovers, while scoring a goal. 
• Sydney Clifford had three ground ball and caused turnovers. 
• Abby Dunn won six draw controls for the Saints in the game. 

How It Happened

• Peter opened up the scoring in the game, notching a goal near the 12 minute mark to put the Saints up 1-0 early on. 
• Down 4-to-1, the Saints went on a 5-0 run, finished off by a goal from Megan Edens to put MU up 6-to-4 with just minutes remaining in the first half of play.
• Two Susquehanna goals tied up the scoring heading into halftime.
• The River Hawks took control in the second half of play, ultimately taking the contest by its final tally.

• MU will open up home action Wednesday, Mar. 1st against Arcadia at 4 PM.
