ARLINGTON, Va. – Gavin Taylorson tied two single-game school records in a 23-7 men's lacrosse victory over SUNY-Delhi on Friday night.

NOTABLE

• Taylorson scored eight goals (tied with Hunter Ralston and Stephen Milano for first in program history) and 11 points (tied with Clark Akers for first in program history) in the win.
• Jack Williams also impressed with five goals and four assists to finish with nine points.
• As a team, Marymount fired off 66 shots and held the Broncos to just five shot attempts in the second half.
• The Saints were also 19-of-20 on clear attempts for the night.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Marymount raced out to a 5-0 lead after just 5:07 of game time.
• The pace settled down and MU held a 6-2 lead after one quarter.
• The Saints added a few more goals in the second quarter but surrendered a last-second goal to head into halftime with a 10-4 advantage.
• Marymount scored five straight goals (three from Taylorson, two from Williams) to close out the third quarter with a 16-5 lead.
• Five different Saints found the back of the net in the fourth quarter to give MU the 23-7 victory to open the season.
