ARLINGTON, Va. - The Saints took nationally-ranked Juniata College down to the wire Friday evening in Converse Family Fieldhouse, narrowly falling to the Eagles 3-2.

With the tight loss the Saints' record stands at 7-3.

Notable

• Esteban Jauregui put up 14 total kills on the night, hitting for a .133 percentage, for a total of 14.5 points.
• Hayden Kerekes knocked seven kills and added five solo blocks for 12.5 points.
• Grayson Andrews had 43 assists in the contest. 
• Camden Schulte had 12 total kills, knocking at a .214 percentage on the night. 
• Mason Moore had six kills and three solo blocks. 

How It Happened

• The Saints opened up the match on fire, with the score tied up at two apiece, MU went on a 8-to-0 run to take an early 9-2 lead. 
• With Juniata crawling pack, the Saints went on a 4-to-1 spurt, capped off by a Schulte kill, to get to 18-12.
• The Eagles stayed tight with Marymount, but a kill from Kerekes was the decider in the first set, putting the Saints up 1-0.
• Juniata took the second set to even up the tally at 1-1.
• The third set was a battle, and with Marymount down 24-21 they scored four unanswered points to go up 25-to-24, but the Eagles came out on top in the third set to take the advantage.
• Behind strong play, the Saints battled back in the fourth set. A service error from the Eagles sent the game into its fifth and final set. 
• With the score at 11-to-10 in favor of the Eagles, they would go on to score the final four points in stride, edging out the well-fought victory.

• The Saints are back in action at home tomorrow, taking on Elizabethtown at 3 PM.
• MU will then hit the road on Tuesday, Feb. 14, to Arcadia for a 7 PM match.
