ARLINGTON -- Marymount women's basketball shook off the rust in a convincing 74-38 victory over King's on Saturday afternoon. 13 Saints scored in a well-balanced effort.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Marymount led by as many as 15 points in the first quarter before closing with a 22-8 advantage.
- In the second quarter, Ally Vezendy picked up a pair of buckets to give MU a 29-12 lead with 7:00 to go in the frame.
- King's clawed back within nine but the Saints went into halftime with a 33-22 lead.
- In the third quarter, Marymount closed out with a 19-9 run on a triple and layup from Terra Dzambo to take a 59-36 lead into the final frame. Dzambo finished with 11 points, one of three double-digit scorers for the Saints (Symantha Shackelford, Chandler Eddleton).
- Marymount held King's to just two points in the fourth quarter to win going away, 74-38.
- MU was strong in all facets, going 7-of-18 (38.9 percent) from beyond the arc and also winning the points in the paint battle, 34-8.
