ARLINGTON, VA -- Marymount women's volleyball played number 4 seed, Marywood University in the Atlantic East Conference Semifinal match on Thursday night. In a 3-0 decision (25-15, 25-19, 25-19), the Saints claimed victory over the Pacers and will advance to the AEC Championship match which will be hosted at Marymount on Saturday.Â
NOTABLE
- Mya Bowers totaled 3 kills while hitting at a .600 clip with 2 block assists.Â
- Leading the team with kills was Kaitlyn Doyle with 14 kills, she also added 2 service aces. Myia Jeter added 9 kills and 3 block assists.Â
- Alexis Franklin totaled 30 assists, 5 kills, and 3 digs.
- Eliza Freeman led defensively with 12 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Starting off the first frame with a strong lead, notable plays included kills from Myia Jeter and Kaitlyn Doyle with assists from Alexis Franklin.
- Keeping the momentum in the second set, the Saints kept the lead with numerous consecutive runs with kills from Jada Griffith and strong digs from Eliza Freeman.Â
- Closing out the AEC Semifinal matchup, the Saints took the frame 25-19 in a 3-0 decision against the Pacers for the second time this season.Â
