CHAMPS! Saints Win Atlantic East Title With 3-0 Decision Against Neumann

ARLINGTON, VA-- Marymount women's volleyball faced Neumann University for the 2nd time this season with an impressive 3-0 sweep to win their fourth Atlantic East Title in the history of the program.

NOTABLE
  • Myia Jeter totaled 3 solo blocks and 3 block assists. She also had 4 kills for a .167 hitting percentage. 
  • Alexis Franklin totaled 36 assists for this match along with 4 kills, 6 digs, and 1 service ace. 
  • Kaitlyn Doyle and Jada Griffith each acquired 10 kills. Doyle also added 11 digs. 
  • Eliza Freeman lead the team defensively with 18 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Starting off the first frame strong, Myia Jeter put up big blocks against the Knights early on contributing to a 7 point lead. With the set at 22-12, Alexis Franklin and Kaitlyn Doyle had strong kills, ending the frame 25-15.
  • Keeping the momentum into the second set, the Saints kept a strong lead with notable kills from Mya Bowers and Maya Harris. Eliza Freeman and Sarah Pham kept the back row together with numerous digs. A kill from Myia Jeter closed out the frame 25-19.
  • In the third set, the Knights weren't done yet. Bringing the score from a 7 point deficit to 3 late in the third frame, the Knights fought hard. The Saints were able to claim the Atlantic East Title (25-19) with two back to back kills from Myia Jeter with assists from Maya Harris.
