HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Marymount women's volleyball saw its season end in the NCAA Tournament First Round at the hands of Stevens on Thursday evening, 3-0. Marymount finishes the season with a 17-15 record and a second straight Atlantic East championship.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Marymount took an early 7-6 lead in set one but the Ducks strung together four points in a row to take a 14-10 lead.
- Stevens continued to pull away and took set one, 25-18.
- The Saints started fast in set two as well, holding an early 4-2 lead. Stevens fought back and stretched its lead to 18-12 at one point.
- Marymount got within two at 22-20 but Stevens scored the final three points to take it, 25-20.
- It was a different story in the final set as Stevens raced out to a 9-1 lead. Marymount climbed all the way back and got within one point at 15-14 to force a Stevens timeout.
- Stevens responded by pulling away down the stretch with a 25-17 victory to advance to the NCAA Second Round.
- Kaitlyn Doyle led the Saints with 10 kills with Maya Harris right behind at nine kills. Harris also led the Saints by hitting .278 on the day.
