ARLINGTON, Va. - Marymount women's soccer celebrated its seniors this afternoon prior to an Atlantic East matchup with Cabrini.
A tough fight throughout, the Saints came up on the short end of the match, falling 2-0 to the Cavaliers. With the loss, they fall to .500 in AEC action.Â
NOTABLE
- Marymount outshot the Cavaliers 16-7 in the match, but were unable to find the back of the net.Â
- Allina Mbuko put five shots up on the day, with two of them on target.
- Off of the bench, Brigid Sullivan had three shots with two on goal.
- Breanna Harkins punched a pair of shots in the match, with one on target.Â
- Lainey Placido, Leila Lajdel, Jessica Calvert, and Jillian Brunetto each added shots in the offensive-driven affair.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cabrini got the action going early in the 13th minute, earning the penalty shot and converting it to get on the board fast.
- Marymount went on to outshoot Cabrini 10-to-1 in the first half, but were unable to sink any, sending the game into the half with the Saints down 1-0.
- The Cavaliers added on in the 55th minute to push the score to 2-0 with time left for Marymount to counter.Â
- Brunetto put up a shot once more in the final minutes to get the Saints on the board, but the Cabrini goalkeeper kept the shutout in tact, keeping the match at its final tally of 2-0.

- The Saints will head to Gwynedd-Mercy for their next matchup on Wednesday, with kickoff slated for 4 PM.
- Marymount will continue its AEC slate on Saturday, traveling to Centenary for a 2 PM match.
