ARLINGTON, Va. - Marymount women's soccer prevailed in the second half to take down the Mighty Macs of Immaculata on Wednesday evening.
With the win, the Saints move to 1-0 in Atlantic East action, improving to 2-8-3 overall.
NOTABLE
- Leila Lajdel was the difference maker, sinking the lone goal in the second half to give the Saints the lead.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams traded shots in the opening minutes of the match, giving way to the offensive battle to come.
- Four total shots from the Saints in the final ten minutes of the first half showed promise, but MU was unable to find the back of the net, sending the match into intermission scoreless.
- In the 47th minute, the Saints came through. Mbuko found Lajdel in the box with an open look, and the first-year delivered with a power shot past the Immaculata goalkeeper to break the tie and give Marymount the lead.
- Strong defense down the stretch gave way to the Saints' victory, with the defense holding down the offensive pressure.
