ASTON, Pa. - Marymount women's soccer continued their strong defense on Wednesday evening at Neumann to finish out the regular season with a scoreless tie against the Knights.
With the tie, the Saints complete the regular season with a record of 5-9-5, 3-1-2 in AEC play.
NOTABLE
- The Saints finished their conference slate among the top of their conference records all time, notching a .667 win percentage.
- Marymount has not allowed a goal in their last four contests.
- MU outshot the Knights 16-9 in the match.
- Breanna Harkins (5) and Laney Placido (3)Â led the Saints in shots on the night.Â
- Hannah Mockenhaupt continues to hold the opponents to zero, not allowing a goal in her last 414 minutes in the net.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Saints came out of the gate shooting, with Harkins looking to notch the first goal of the night, but the shot was ultimately saved. Neumann followed it up with three shots of their own, but a strong save from Mockenhaupt kept the match at 0-0.
- With both teams struggling to get consistent offense going down the stretch of the first half, the Knights tried once more to take the advantage, but Mockenhaupt swatted it away to take the match into halftime knotted up at 0-0.
- The two teams traded early shots in the second half, but both missed wide.
- In the waning minutes of the match, the Saints powered off seven total shots but couldn't find the back of the net. The game ultimately finished with the same score it started with, 0-0.
UP NEXT
- With the draw, the Saints earned the #2 seed in the Atlantic East Tournament.
- They will have a bye this weekend, before playing host next Tuesday, Oct. 31.
