ARLINGTON, VA-- Marymount Women's volleyball went up against the University of Mary Washington Eagles at home on Wednesday evening. The Saints fought hard but ultimately fell short in a 3-0 decision to the Eagles. (25-21, 25-20, 25-18).

NOTABLE

• Leading the team for assists and hitting percentage, Alexis Franklin totaled 20 assists and hit at a .400 clip.
• Eliza Freeman acquired 20 digs in this match and 3 service aces. 
• Myia Jeter had 2 blocks.
• Kaitlyn Doyle lead with 8 kills. Jada Griffith was close behind with 7.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Starting off strong with a kill from Maya Harris to earn the first point in the match. Throughout the first frame, the Saints fought hard with strong assists by Alexis Franklin to lead to 4 kills by Kaitlyn Doyle and 3 kills by Jada Griffith. Despite this, the Eagles came out on top in this frame, 25-21.
• Moving into the second set, the Saints started off slow in a 7 point deficit early on. A handful of service aces and smart dumps and attacks by Alexis Franklin pushed the score closer together. The Saints fell short to the Eagles in this set 25-20.
• The Saints and the Eagles went point-for-point in the third set, the Eagles fighting hard to claim the victory. Notable plays included swift kills by middle hitters, Mya Bowers and Myia Jeter and a service ace by Eliza Freeman. The Eagles claimed the victory over the Saints with a final score of 25-18 for a 3-0 decision.
