ARLINGTON, Va. – After a tough first two sets on Thursday night against Neumann in the Atlantic East semifinals, Marymount women's volleyball cruised to an impressive third set victory to sweep the Knights and advance to the Atlantic East Championship.  

NOTABLE

• With the win, Marymount advances to its fourth straight Atlantic East championship match. The Saints will be looking for their third AEC title and first since 2019.
• Elissa Munsterman had 13 kills and only two errors for an impressive .379 hitting percentage. She also had a team-high 15 digs on the night.
• Mya Bowers led the Saints with six blocks and added six kills on the offensive end.
• Alexis Franklin paced the Marymount attack with 25 assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Marymount and Neumann went point-for-point to start the first set until Munsterman's service run gave the Saints a 17-12 lead. MU closed the set strong to win 25-17.
• Neumann raced out to a 12-3 lead to start the second set, forcing head coach Beth Ann Wilson to call a timeout.
• Marymount slowly chipped away at the lead and finally pulled ahead, 17-16, before taking the set, 25-23.
• The Saints left no doubt about it in the third set and won 25-9 much to the delight of the roaring Marymount faithful crowd.

• Marymount will travel to face Cabrini in the Atlantic East Championship on Saturday.
