ARLINGTON, Va. – Marymount women's basketball picked up an impressive 59-56 win over 2022 NCAA Tournament qualifier Shenandoah on Tuesday night at Converse Family Fieldhouse.

NOTABLE

• Terra Dzambo led Marymount with a double-double, scoring 13 points and adding a career-high 11 rebounds.
• Ava Achtyl led the Saints defensivelywith four blocks and three steals. She also added nine points.
• Chandler Eddleton went 5-of-6 from the charity stripe, including two straight makes in the final second to ice the win. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Shenandoah took control in the first quarter and carried a 21-14 lead into the second quarter. The Hornets led by as many as eight in the frame.
• Marymount responded with a 10-0 run over the first 5:26 of the second quarter to take its first lead of the night. At the half, the Saints led 33-28.
• The Saints continued the momentum in the third quarter and led by 12 after back-to-back three-pointers from Symantha Shackelford put MU on top, 47-35 with four minutes left in the frame.
• Shenandoah methodically chipped away at the lead throughout the entire final quarter.
• A triple from Dzambo put MU on top by eight points with 2:11 remaining, but Shenandoah fought back to within one on a layup with four seconds left.
• Shenandoah was forced to foul twice before triggering the double-bonus. The Hornets heaved a half-court shot as time expired that hit the rim but bounced away, giving MU the three-point win.

• Marymount will remain at home on Sunday afternoon against Johns Hopkins.
• Tip-off is set for 1 PM.
