WESTMINSTER, Md. – Marymount women's basketball took the Rebecca Martin Memorial Tip-Off Tournament championship after squeaking out a 60-57 win over host McDaniel on Saturday evening. 

NOTABLE

• Symantha Shackelford was named Tournament MVP after scoring 18 points in the title game. She went 3-for-6 from beyond the arc to lead the Saints. 
• Chandler Eddleton also earned a spot on the All-Tournament team after scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds against McDaniel. 
• Marymount outrebounded McDaniel 36-28 as four Saints grabbed at least six boards. 
• The Saints are off to their best start (3-0) since starting the 2019-20 campaign 8-0. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Marymount jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the game but ended the first quarter with only a slim 11-10 advantage. 
• After falling behind early in the second quarter, Marymount responded well and led by as many as nine in the frame.
• MU headed into halftime with a 28-25 lead. 
• Marymount took its largest lead of the day in the third quarter after a Claire Smith free throw with 2:16 left in the period put MU on top, 46-34. 
• McDaniel climbed all the way back in the fourth quarter and took a one-point lead thanks to a three-pointer with 1:25 remaining in the game. 
• After a Marymount timeout, Eddleton gave the Saints the lead back with a short jumper in the paint. 
• A bucket by Terra Dzambo with five seconds left gave Marymount a three-point lead and McDaniel's three-pointer to tie as time expired was no good to give Marymount the win.

• Marymount will travel to face Washington (Md.) on Tuesday night at 7 PM.
