Box Score ARLINGTON, Va. - The Marymount University women's basketball team defeated Neumann University in dominating fashion Wednesday night, 91-53, moving to 2-1 in Atlantic East Conference play.
It was all Saints from the start, putting together a 29-point first quarter on 66.7-percent shooting. Sophomore Katie McShea, who finished with a game-high 18 points, put up 12 in just seven minutes, going 4-for-5 from the floor and a perfect 4-for-4 at the free-throw line.
By the half, Marymount carried a 47-30 advantage into the locker room, as McShea added on her final six points to her stat line.
The second half saw no difference with MU putting on two more 20-plus quarters to cruise to its highest-scoring game of the season. Senior Gabriella Haddad paced the offense in the final two quarter, dropping in 12 of her 16 for the night.
McShea and Haddad were joined in double-figures by three other Saints, as senior Abby Fisher tacked on 12 points and junior Taylor Love and freshman Symantha Shackelford chipped in 11 each. Haddad just missed a double-double for the night, pulling in a game-high nine rebounds to go along with a game-high four steals.
For the game, the Saints shot 52.6 percent from the floor, totaling 30 field goals, the fifth time this season they have reached at least 30. Much of that success was inside the arc, registering 52 points in the paint.
Marymount continues league play on Saturday, January 18, traveling to Gwynedd Mercy University for a 1 p.m., tip.
