Plumley Grabs Two Top Finishes On Senior Day

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Marymount University women's swim team concluded the regular season on Saturday afternoon, falling to Frostburg State University, 130-68, but it didn't go without strong performances from the senior class.

Senior Taylor Plumley went two-for-two in her individual events, cruising to a blistering 12-second victory in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:27.70, and followed in later in the meet with another top finish in the 500-yard free, touching the wall at 5:34.75. 

Senior Claire Cassidy concluded her career in the Rose Bente Lee Center pool with a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard individual medley (1:11.36) and a third-place finish in the 50-yard backstroke (33.30).

Juniors Hayley Elizondo and Isabel Grimm each collected a top finish and a second-place finish in the meet. Elizondo held out for a close victory in the 100 IM with a time of 1:01.85 before falling just .03 seconds short of a victory in the 50 breast with a time of 31.77. Grimm collected a top finish in the 50 back, topping her competition by just .04 seconds with a time of 30.36, and took second in the 50 free (26.66).

The Saints will take the next week and a half to gear up for the first-ever Atlantic East Conference Championships at Marywood University. The three-day event will take start on Friday, February 15.
