Bricker, Elizondo Total Four Top Finishes; Women's Swimming Falls To St. Mary's

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Marymount University women's swimming team dropped a close 101-85 decision to St. Mary's College of Maryland on Saturday afternoon in the Rose Bente Lee Center.

Senior leadership led the meet, as seniors Jessie Bricker and Hayley Elizondo each recorded two individual victories.

Bricker opened her day with a top finish in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 2:09.14 to edge out a St. Mary's competitor by a second. Her second race in the 100-yard freestyle, turned out much closer, as she won by just .01 seconds in a time of 1:00.37.

Elizondo, who has not lost a single race yet this season, added two more to her resume on Saturday, taking first in the 200 individual medley by nine seconds with a time of 2:17.02. She followed it with another dominating performance in the 100 breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:09.88, five seconds faster than the second-place finisher.

Elizondo is now 6-for-6 for the season in individual races.

Senior Isabel Grimm had a productive day with two second-place finishes in the 50 freestyle (27.00) and the 100 backstroke (1:04.78).
