ARLINGTON, Va. – The Marymount University women's swimming team defeated Atlantic East Conference-foe Immaculata University for its first win of the year, 121-45, on Saturday.
Junior Isabel Grimm and freshmen Moira Carroll, Kaila Cuellar, and Madeline DeMarco got the Saints started off with a win in the 200-yard medley relay, finishing in a time of 2:06.36.
Grimm added an individual first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.10 seconds, as the Saints tallied nine top finishes on the day.
Senior Taylor Plumley and junior Hayley Elizondo each notched three top finishes.
Plumley won the 1000-, 200-, and 100-yard freestyles. She finished the 1000 in 13:36.09, the 200 in 2:03.76, and the 100 in 58.09 seconds.
Elizondo placed first in the 200-yard individual medley (2:16.52), the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.80), and the 100-yard backstroke (1:04.66).
Marymount capped the day with first in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as Cuellar, junior Jessie Bricker, senior Claire Cassidy, and freshman Kahley Alteri teamed for a time of 1:58.20.
The Saints will travel to Gallaudet University for its next meet on Friday, November 16; the meet is set for 6 p.m.
