SALISBURY, Md. – The Marymount women's swim team dominated in the freestyle events on Saturday afternoon en route to a 133-70 victory over Salisbury University in a CAC dual meet on the Eastern Shore.
Junior Taylor Plumley and sophomores Jessie Bricker and Hayley Elizondo all collected top finishes in the five individual freestyle events in the meet, as Plumley took first in the 800-meter (10:20.51) and the 400-meter (4:57.17), Bricker in the 200-meter (2:22.36) and the 100-meter (1:06.20), and Elizondo in the 50-meter (28.84).
Elizondo also collected a top finish in the 100-meter breaststroke, crushing the second-place finisher by over eight seconds for a time of 1:16.92.
Junior Claire Cassidy grabbed her lone top finish in the 200-meter IM, holding out teammate Morgan Alston by over a second to touch the wall at 2:39.01. Alston came through for a time of 2:40.49.
Alston rounded out the top finishes for the Saints in the individual events, collecting the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:13.47.
In the relays, the Saints open the meet and ended it the same exact way, earning the top spot in the 200-meter medley (2:11.93) and the 200-meter freestyle (2:05.60).
Marymount will return home for its final home meet of the season and Senior Day on Saturday, January 27. First race is scheduled for 2 p.m., in the Rose Bente Lee Center.
