Box Score ARLINGTON, Va. - Marymount women's basketball junior Tyffani McQueen finished with 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists as the No. 23 Saints won their eighth-straight with a 66-53 nonconference victory over Stevenson Monday nigth inside Verizon Sports Arena.
Marymount (8-1) extended its home winning streak to 11 as it never trailed in the game, leading by as many as 18 points.
Senior Nicole Viscuso finished with 17 points, a season-high eight rebounds and a career-high four steals. Sophomore Regan Lohr had 13 points, seven of which came from the free throw line where she was 7-of-10. Senior Leah Hurst totaled seven points, six assists, four rebounds and four steals.
The Saints jumped out to a 20-10 lead after the first quarter and maintained their 10-point lead at the break, limiting the Mustangs to just 10 points in both the first and second quarters. Marymount shot 60.0 percent in the first half while holding held Stevenson without a three-point field goal or a single free throw attempt. The Saints also held a 20-12 rebound margin.
Viscuso scored 13 of her 17 points in the first half, including nine in the opening quarter. The Mustangs cut their deficit to four with 2:13 left in the second quarter before Marymount scored the final six points to take a 30-20 halftime lead.
Stevenson (7-4) never got within eight points the rest of the way as it was limited to just 32 points and 34.8 percent shooting. The Mustangs also finished the game 0-for-8 from three-point range
McQueen totaled 13 of her 19 points in the second half while Lohr added 10 and was 6-of-8 from the free throw line.
Marymount, who scored 46 of its points in the paint, will now break for the holiday before returning to action in 11 days when it takes on Vassar across town at Catholic in the Jamie Lynn Roberts Holiday Tournament on Friday, December 29.
