Arlington, Va. – Another strong performance on the boards propelled Marymount past Frostburg State on Saturday afternoon, with the Saints overpowering the visiting Bobcats, 63-46.  Marymount improves to 9-4 on the season and 5-1 in league play with the win.

Kievanna Lacey netted a career-high 25 points in the effort, with Dominique Dickens and Leah Hurst adding 14 and 11 points, respectively.  Miranda Krott continued her dominance beneath the basket, nabbing 12 boards as the Saints outrebounded the Bobcats, 41-28.

The Saints kicked off the first half with a brisk 16-4 run – securing an ample 20-7 lead by the 11:37 mark.  The Marymount advantage lingered between 12 and 15 points until Kievanna Lacey netted a pair of free throws with 47 seconds showing to extend the lead to 36-18.  The Bobcats sunk a jumper several seconds later, making the score 36-20 heading into the break.

The second half proved quite the basket-for-basket affair.  The Saints' advantage neither waxed nor waned, as Frostburg State was able to counter almost every basket Marymount made.

Back-to-back layups from Dickens and Lacey eventually put the Saints up 58-38 with 4:42 left to play, and another Lacey basket about two minutes later gave Marymount a game-high 21-point sprawl.

The Bobcats responded with a layup and a pair of free throws, but the game was well out of reach.

The Saints shot a solid 43.1% (22-51) from the field and 33.3% (3-9) from beyond the arc.  The Marymount squad dominated in the paint and at the line, pouring in 72.7% (16-22) of its free throw attempts.

Marymount returns to action on Wednesday night as it travels to Salisbury for a CAC showdown.  Tip time is set for 6 p.m.
