Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's women's swimming team split a Capital Athletic Conference double dual meet in its regular season home finale on Saturday. The Saints topped visiting Frostburg State 136-47 but fell to Mary Washington 115-68.
Marymount (5-4, 3-2 CAC) won four events on the day, including a pair from senior Katie Moran in the final home meet of her career. Moran claimed victory in the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle while Casey Thomas won the 200 freestyle and Bridget Wunderly won the 10 butterfly.
Wunderly opened the day by teaming with Lauren Funk, Jessica Hester and Hanna Del Signore for a second place showing in the 200 medley relay. Thomas then upped the ante with her victory in the 200 freestyle before Moran matched suit in the 50 freestyle.
Morgan Parking kept the Saints scoring streak intact with a third place finish in the 400 IM before Wunderly returned the Blue and White to the top of the medal stand in the 100 butterfly. Moran kept things rolling with her win in the 100 freestyle before Thomas placed second in the 100 backstroke.
Hester closed out the individual events with a third place finish in the 100 breaststroke.
Wrapping up the meet, Thomas, Wunderly and Moran teamed up with senior Caroline Rahmlow for a second place showing in the 200 freestyle relay.
Marymount returns to action at the CAC Championships, hosted by St. Mary's (Md.) beginning on February 21st in St. Mary's City, Md.
