Box Score Owings Mills, Md. – Marymount University's women's basketball team clinched a first round bye in the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament with a 59-50 victory over Stevenson on Saturday afternoon. The Saints clinch the second-seed in the draw and will host the winner of Tuesday's St. Mary's (Md.) and York (Pa.) game on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Four Saints (13-9, 11-5 CAC) scored in double-figures, led by Beth Wiggins with 15. Maame Amponsah added 14 points to go with 12 rebounds for a double-double while Shannon Gough and Amanda Billy chipped in 12 and 13 points, respectively.
Marymount outshot the Mustangs with 44.7 percent from the floor and a sharp 47.1% from three-point range. Stevenson shot below 30% from both the field and downtown.
JaQuelia Conley led the Mustangs with 16 points while Daniela Poss added 13.
