Lexington, Va. – Marymount University's
women's swimming team dropped a pair of non-conference
showdowns at a tri-meet against Washington & Lee and Catholic
on Saturday. The Saints fell to the host Generals 156-91 and lost
to the rival Cardinals 155-101.5.
Sophomore Emily Wagner put together a team-high four
top-three performances while junior Meghan Morch added three.
Freshman Katie Moran, sophomore Kim Rizzo and senior Kelly Labriola
each posted a pair.
The Saints opened with a third place finish in the 200 Medley
Relay from Rizzo, Wagner, Morch and Moran with a time of 1:59.60.
Wagner added a second place finish in the 100 Breaststroke at
1:15.39, a second place finish in the 200 Breaststroke at 2:43.63
and teamed with Finn, Katie Martocci and Labriola with a third
place finish in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a time of
1:52.32.
Morch excelled in the freestyle events, placing third in the
50 free at 26.43 and third in the 100 free at 59.81. Moran added a
second place finish in the 100 free at 57.99.
Labriola placed third in the 500 free with a time of 5:42.29
and Rizzo was second in the 400 Individual Medley at
4:57.94.
Marymount returns to action on Saturday at Gallaudet against
the host Bison and Hollins.
