Paige Knussman

Paige Knussman enters her third season as the head softball coach at Marymount in 2024.

In 2023, Knussman led the Saints to a No. 2 seed in the Atlantic East Tournament and hosted the first round at Barcroft Park. The Saints with an 8-4 record in conference action and an 18-24 overall record. 

Kaylynn Johnson finished an incredible 2023 campaign as a First Team All-Region and All-Conference selection, as well as being named the Atlantic East Player of the Year. Johnson and Samantha Cinotti also finished as All-State selections, the second and third in program history. The pair were one of five total All-Conference selections in 2023. 
 
In Marymount’s first season of softball, Knussman coached four All-Conference selections and one NFCA All-Region honoree (Samantha Cinotti). Cinotti also earned a place on the VaSID All-State Second Team. She led the Saints to a 16-25 record in their inaugural campaign.
 
A veteran of the collegiate coaching ranks since 2016, Knussman most recently served as the lead assistant at William Peace in Raleigh, N.C. Upon arrival, she immediately took over as the program's head development coach and drove the Pacers' recruiting efforts. In the shortened 2020 season, she helped guide the Pacers to five wins, including a 7-2 victory over ODAC power, Guilford.
 
Prior to William Peace, Knussman spent three seasons as an assistant at her alma mater, Salisbury. During her time in the dugout for the Gulls, she mentored two All-Americans, seven All-Region honorees, 16 All-Conference selections, and one CAC Player of the Year. She helped Salisbury to 75 wins and an appearance in the 2018 NCAA Tournament after posting a 30-15 record.
 
A standout student-athlete at Salisbury, Knussman was a two-time First Team All-American and was also a two-time Academic All-American. She was also a four-time First Team All-Conference selection. She led Salisbury to three consecutive NCAA College World Series and four NCAA Tournament appearances, earning a place on the NCAA All-Tournament Team in 2014. In 2015, she was named Most Outstanding Player at the Salisbury NCAA Regional.
 
As a do-it-all player, she graduated with a career slash line of .448/.496/.744 and a .979 fielding percentage. Her career batting average ranks first in CAC history while her 192 career RBIs rank second in conference and program history. Additionally, she sits third in the Salisbury record book for career home runs (33) and seventh in hits (224). Â
